Georgia Permit Practice Test

This free Georgia permit practice test gives you 20 multiple-choice questions on road signs, driving rules, and verified Georgia facts. Answer each one, read the explanation, and try to beat your best score.

What the Georgia test covers

The practice test asks 20 questions in a fixed mix: 7 on road signs, 6 on general rules of the road, 5 on Georgia-specific licensing facts, and 2 on pavement markings. Signs and rules take the largest share because they are the bulk of what a new driver has to recognize and apply. Every question is multiple choice with four options and one correct answer.

Georgia rules behind the state questions

The five Georgia questions draw only on verified facts about the state’s licensing system:

Fact Georgia
Licensing agency Department of Driver Services (DDS)
Minimum learner’s permit age 15
Supervised practice for drivers under 18 40 hours
Adult per-se BAC limit 0.08

Nothing outside this table appears in the state questions, so you are never quizzed on a claim this page cannot back up.

How the practice test works

You move through the 20 questions one at a time. Pick an answer and you see at once whether it was right or wrong, along with a one-line explanation of the correct choice. When you finish, a full review lists every question with your answer next to the correct one. Your best score is kept in your browser, so each later attempt has a number to beat.

This page is independent practice material. It is not affiliated with the Georgia DDS or any other state agency. Requirements change over time, and summaries like this one can lag behind. The state’s official driver manual is the authority on what applies today.
