Indiana Permit Practice Test
Work through this free Indiana permit practice test: 20 multiple-choice questions on road signs, driving rules, and verified Indiana facts, each graded the moment you answer.
Inside the 20 questions
The set breaks down as 7 questions on road signs, 6 on general driving rules, 5 on Indiana-specific licensing facts, and 2 on pavement markings. All 20 are multiple choice with four options apiece, and only one option is correct. The heavier weighting on signs and rules mirrors what actually fills a driver’s day; the smaller state group checks whether you know the numbers and names that apply only in Indiana.
Indiana requirements covered by the test
The five state questions come from a fixed, verified list:
| Fact | Indiana |
|---|---|
| Licensing agency | Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) |
| Minimum learner’s permit age | 15 |
| Supervised hours for drivers under 18 | 50 |
| Adult per-se BAC limit | 0.08 |
The test does not stray beyond these four facts when it asks about Indiana, so every state answer can be traced to something verifiable.
How the quiz runs
One question at a time, four options each. As soon as you commit to an answer, the test shows right or wrong and a one-line explanation, so the correction lands while the question is still fresh. After the twentieth question you get a complete review: every question, your answer, the correct one. Your best score is stored in your browser and stands until you top it.
This is an independent practice page. It is not affiliated with the Indiana BMV or any other state agency. Rules and thresholds get revised, and printed pages age. The state’s official driver manual is the authority whenever the two disagree.
