Kentucky Permit Practice Test

Use this free Kentucky permit practice test to work through 20 multiple-choice questions on road signs, driving rules, and verified Kentucky facts, with feedback after every answer.

What the Kentucky questions cover

The test holds 20 questions: 7 about road signs, 6 about general rules of the road, 5 about Kentucky-specific licensing facts, and 2 about pavement markings. Every question offers four options, and exactly one of them is correct. Most of the set drills the universal material, signs and rules, while the smaller Kentucky group checks the specific numbers that change when you cross a state line.

Kentucky’s permit rules at a glance

Only verified facts feed the five state questions:

Fact Kentucky
Licensing agency Transportation Cabinet (KYTC)
Minimum learner’s permit age 16
Supervised hours for drivers under 18 60
Adult per-se BAC limit 0.08

Note the pairing: Kentucky starts permits later than many states, at 16, and asks for a comparatively high 60 supervised hours. Those two numbers are the heart of the state questions.

The mechanics of the test

Questions appear one at a time. Choose an answer and the result comes back immediately, right or wrong, with a one-line explanation of the correct option. When the twentieth question is done, a full review presents every question with your answer and the correct one together. Your best score lives in your browser between visits, so it is ready to be challenged the next time you sit down for a run.

This is an independent practice page, not an official one. It has no affiliation with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet or any other state agency. Requirements are revised over time, and the state’s official driver manual remains the authority on what applies now.
