New Hampshire Permit Practice Test

New Hampshire issues no learner's permit document, but the knowledge a permit test measures still matters there. This free New Hampshire permit practice test asks 18 questions on signs, rules, markings, and the state's own approach.

Question mix in this practice test

The 18 questions split into four groups: 7 road-sign questions, 6 traffic-rule questions, 3 questions on New Hampshire specifics, and 2 on pavement markings. Signs and markings test recognition. Rule questions cover everyday driving decisions such as yielding, passing, and safe following distance. The New Hampshire group rests on the short list of verified facts below.

A state with no learner’s permit

New Hampshire issues no learner’s permit document. Instead, supervised practice with a licensed adult aged 25 or over is allowed from age 15 and a half. That is the central fact behind this page’s state questions. Two more verified numbers complete the set: drivers under 18 must log 40 hours of supervised practice, and the adult per-se blood alcohol limit is 0.08. Driver licensing in the state is run by the Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Beyond these points, this page makes no claims about New Hampshire law.

Format, feedback, and scoring

You answer 18 multiple-choice questions, each with four options. Every answer is graded the moment you pick it: right or wrong, plus a one-line explanation of the correct choice. At the end, a review screen walks through all 18 questions with your answers and the correct ones side by side. Your best score stays in your browser between visits, so progress is easy to track. There is no timer and no sign-up.

This site is independent practice only. It is not affiliated with the New Hampshire DMV or any state agency, and rules change. Treat the state’s official driver manual as the authority on every requirement mentioned here.
